What we collect

Hatheh collects only the data we need to run the site. Specifically:

• Account data — name, email, hashed password — when you register to comment.
• Comment data — your comment body, IP address, and user-agent string. IP is stored to help us identify spam and abuse.
• View tracking — a per-tab session id, locale, device type, and HTTP referrer for each article you read. We use this to compute popular-stories metrics; we do not link views to user accounts.

Cookies

We set three first-party cookies:

• laravel_session — keeps you logged in.
• XSRF-TOKEN — protects forms from cross-site request forgery.
• cookie-accepted — remembers that you've dismissed the cookie banner.

We do not use any third-party tracking cookies. We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to advertisers.

Third parties

Hatheh runs entirely on first-party infrastructure. We do not embed third-party analytics, ad networks, or social trackers.

Your rights

You can request deletion of your account and comment history at any time by contacting the editor through the contact form. Deletion is permanent.

Children

Hatheh is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone in that age range.
